Parent Committee Role

Each kindergarten annually elects a committee made up of interested parents of children currently attending the kindergarten. The Committee is responsible for supporting the teachers in the day-to-day management of the kindergarten and its environment.

The committee has an important role in fundraising and applying for grants for any special kindergarten projects.

The committees have elected positions on them of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Grants Officer.

Through the elected Board members of the kindergarten association, these parent committees have a voice in the overall decisions relating to kindergartens in Central Otago .

The Committees also have their say at general Association level through the Committee Chairperson and the Association delegate who are members of the Association with full voting Rights.
