Terrace Kindergarten - Philosophy

At Terrace Kindergarten the children are our central focus. We
create an environment that is welcoming and where the child is
empowered to take responsibility and ownership for their own learning
pathways.
Reciprocal and responsive relationships between children, whanau,
teachers and the community are fostered to enhance the learning
opportunities for each child. These relationships are based on
respect, caring and communication.
The qualities of atawhai (parent support), tuakana teina (peer
teaching) and ako (teaching and learning) are practised to create a
learning community.
We foster a love of the natural world and a sense of wonder in each
child.
We strive to
foster a lifelong love of learning.
