20 Free ECE

All our Kindergartens offer the Government's Free ECE initiative.

This is part of our aim of making Kindergarten accessible and affordable to all families.

There are some simple rules to follow:

Up to 20 hours are available to all 3 and 4 year olds at a teacher-led service such as Kindergarten.

A child can have up to 6 hours per day, to a total of 20 hours per week.

You can choose to spread your child’s ECE hours between the services he or she attends.  It’s your choice.

Unused ECE hours cannot be carried forward to another week.

You cannot be charged a fee for any ECE hours – but you may be asked to pay an optional charge at some services.

To claim your ECE hours, you need to complete this section on the enrolment form.

The attestation section on the enrolment form is a legal document which confirms to the Ministry of Education how you are going to use your ECE hours.

You must change the details on the enrolment form if you change the way you are using your child’s ECE hours.
